Insulin-dependent diabetes

A long-term type of diabetes that is brought about as a result of insufficient insulin production and the abnormal metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. It is marked by increased blood and urine sugar levels, excessive thirst, frequent urination, and acidosis.
